Call For Artists: Gallery Show Lab
Spring & Summer 2026
The Disability Arts Gallery Lab is now accepting applications for Spring and Summer 2026. This application-based visual art program supports artists creating and presenting work centered on Disability identity and culture. The Lab will culminate in a public gallery exhibition in Portland this summer, where the entire community will be invited to celebrate the work.
During Spring Term, participating artists will receive individualized art coaching along with instruction in exhibition planning and professional development. In Summer Term, students will attend several workshops to refine and complete their artwork, followed by a one-day group installation in the gallery space. A detailed schedule will be announced soon, and participants are expected to attend scheduled sessions and commit to the full project timeline to the best of their ability.
Rather than meeting at a single fixed time each week, the Lab will meet at different times throughout the spring and summer. During Spring Term, participants will attend one session every week, that will take place on either: Wednesdays from 5:15–6:45 pm, Fridays from 11:00 am–1:00 pm, or Saturdays from 1:00–3:00 pm.
To apply, complete a short form with questions about your interest and a digital photo of your artwork. The form is available on PHAME’s website or get a paper copy at the Robin. CCs are available to help students apply. Artists not selected for this Lab may still submit individual work for the show; instructions will be available in April.
