Description

In this every-other-week class, you'll work in a small group of 3 students to learn how to play on a piano keyboard, building practical skills and technique while learning music theory. Playing on a keyboard helps you understand how music works—it strengthens your sense of rhythm, melody, and harmony, helps you learn your part for singing groups, and supports songwriting and performance. The small group setting allows for personal attention and peer learning, while the two-week gap between sessions gives you time to practice and apply what you’ve learned. Open to all levels, this is a supportive space to explore the keyboard and grow at your own pace. Practice keyboards are available for students to borrow for the term.
