Description
Dance Ensemble is an auditioned, rehearsal-based class focusing on creating dance performances. Students will work on creating and learning dances for performance, building a repertoire of dances, and practicing improvisational structures to create a repertoire of performance pieces. The Dance Ensemble will perform at Winter Concert and other PHAME events and gigs. This class relies heavily on the skills learned in other PHAME dance classes, so it is highly recommended that Dance Ensemble students take at least one additional dance class every term while participating in this lab. Students are expected to attend classes weekly (unless absences are arranged ahead of time) and encouraged to commit to the class for the whole school year (fall, winter, spring).
Prerequisites
Registration requirements: Participation is subject to instructor approval. Lab auditions happen annually at the end of Spring Term for the following year of classes.
