Rather than meeting at a single fixed time each week, the Lab will meet at different times throughout the spring and summer.

The Disability Arts Gallery Lab is now accepting applications for Spring and Summer 2026. This application-based visual art program supports artists creating and presenting work centered on Disability identity and culture. The Lab will culminate in a public gallery exhibition in Portland this summer, where the entire community will be invited to celebrate the work.

Get your creativity flowing in this imaginative and playful art class. This class will focus on drawing. Students will be introduced to the work of contemporary artists and will learn about art history, and will also be challenged to ask themselves the question, What kind of art do I like to make, and why is it important to me? Come hone your technical skills while developing your own artistic voice! Students will need paper and a pencil or pen, however are welcome to use additional art supplies if they have them.

This class focuses on basic rhythm skills while immersing students in percussion instruments from all over the world. Students will explore a mix of acoustic drums, hand clapping, bongos, congas, djembe, doumbek, shakers and more. No previous experience necessary; PHAME will provide instruments.
